May be the Novell guys should be treated for some kind of mental illness. When cost is the major advantage for corporates to switch to Linux, how is Novell going to sell their Linux in future?. M$ is utilizing Novell very well to defend their stupid TCO idea.

Well...businesses and everyone else have shown a trend of slowly more and more adopting Linux and open-source over time, and Novell will benefit from this. No one is listening when MS says that open source is the root of all evil, because they can use their heads and realize that MS has an interest in retaining their monopoly.

So, is this announcement of TCO hurting Novell? Probably not. But they are $200 million richer because of their deal, and all the independent studies tell a completely different story anyway.

I don't know where Novell wants to go, but they are not going to the right direction. This business with M$ did give them some income, but it is for now. What about the future? On a long period it won't give them positive effects. Saying "Win is cheaper" is not a good point of view for Novell, if they want to sell something, which is definatelly not Win and M$ product. It seems that M$ wants to "attack" the Open Source Community from the inside, with the help of Novell, but I think M$ guys didn't realize that Novell is not the best choise to do that. Novell does not have a real big slice on the Linux "market". Well, if M$ thinks it was a good choise, than it is better for the OSC...
