Microsoft's CLI: Is it a Bash Clone?

"The command line interface to the Windows Server OS will be changed to the new Monad Shell (MSH), in a phased implementation to take place over the next three to five years. This confirmation comes from Microsoft senior vice president Bob Muglia in an interview published today by Microsoft."

Will this be a bash clone? Read the full story here.

Hmm... Will it be a bash clone? Of course not, it will just be ironic that the source code happens to be exactly the same.

It's just them coming to the relization that the windows command line is useless. Now that they're doing all this, it'll be useless+. Now with ten times more features you won't use. Unless I see something major come of this, I'm calling shenanigans. It's just them imitating greatness.

Customer: "What are you doing about Windows' lack of command line functionality?"
Microsoft: "Lack of functionality!? Nu-huh, we've got a command shell and everything!"

Its a lot more (understatement) powerful in terms of scripting comparied to what DOS provided you but it does this differently from Bash.. you could for example write scripts in C# or VB.NET or whatever is supported. It does support piping but it does this in a different way also, it does this in 'objects' instead of 'plain text' If its a clone or not thats up you...
