I am new to using forums/blogs. I guess I my nerd credentials are space but that's why I'm here and why I think the site make-over can improve it. Navigation is hard for people with visual impairments like me, more intuitive human oriented design would improve the site. What else would be cool is a sort of wiki style format, or github (gist) area where people can share code snippets or something. The site itself is awesome in respect to providing a catch all on types of sources and methods. It really has a positive vibe and community. Perhaps make a more accessible version thanks.

LQ has been a great resource for me as I started digging around in the Linux world.
Without LQ would have been much harder and longer for me to come up with the answers. Thanks so much for this forum.

I can just repeat others: I like it, I think it very useful and contains a lot of good resources for beginners and pros. I'm really glad (I found it and) to be able to participate. Keep on going ...!

linux guide

Would be nice if I could download it in the UK but it insists on me having a US phone number!

Congratulations and thanks Jeremy,
LQ has been my daily source of Linux wisdom for the last 11 years!

Hi, don't make a lot of use of this forumn but when I get stuck in and find a problem browsing the old threads has always helped. Even when they don't answer the question I think I need answering it often leads me to realise that I really did not understand the problem and I was going to ask the wrong question.
When I do ask, the replies given helps me a lot, thanks to you all and hopefully in time I will be able to do the same.

Congratulations and thanks, this is really a good forum. I still find weird that in the internets there are things that are older than 4 years or so. Kids these days, they don't even know what a web-ring is/was.

I think the only feedback besides "keep doing what you're doing" I would have would be to come up to some non-bumping post mode to old threads, but I've made this suggestion before and the other posters mentioned that anti-necromancy isn't that radical over here, as long as the new post(s) really add something relevant rather than just cluelessly trying to help the guy from years ago or mentioning they have a similar problem that may not even be related.

Thank you for LQ, Jeremy. And also thankyou to all those nice people here who helped me in the past eleven years :).

Hi, Jeremy. Thanks for this forum.

I'm new to actual success with Linux. This forum has been helpful since I found it a few months ago, although once I finally got a distro installed my experience has been fairly smooth. I can come here and search to get answers or just spend time reading and learning. I expect to have more to contribute once I get experience.

Jeremy, thank you for your great job! Very useful site. English is not my native languarge. So your site is not the first one I use but it is in my favourites. I look for my problems solution very often but very rarely post my own messages(I'm not very experienced in *nixs).

I'm a usual user of Windows and I use Linux for many years in an effort to understanding more of this SO and is with great satisfaction that I can use this forum to solve the problems that I have, with users with a great knowledge ready to colaborate with the beginners.

L3pr3chaun 07-02-2014 06:53 PM

@Jeremy, I have been a user of Linux since 1996, sad to say I finally just registered in December of 2013. I have been coming here for years to get my questions answered. Thanks so much for keeping this site around and relevant.

As you can see I have only been here since 08. Never heard of this forum before that. Was a Windows user.

Joined here 3 weeks before my first Linux install. Has been a great source of reliable support for me.

Thanks a bunch.

I do want to add my voice to the objection to tying into social sites. Admittedly I may just be too old to appreciate them but I have seen nothing good come from such integration with other forums.

Thanks again from one really happy grumpy geezer.
