"anti-privacy vandals" ... has anyone heard of them before ? Cuz I sure as hell haven't. I think Google may have something to do with it.

Must be a German thing. A Google search only turns up references to this incident.

I think it's a Google thing. You can ask them to blur your site, but you may also end up with egg on your door.
