It's just a thought, that maybe those people who's addicted with cigars and alcohol would think twice before buying it. Maybe it would make them realize that they should be prioritizing their kids and instead of their vices.
Yeah, well all those warnings and pictures of black cancerous lungs on them, and they still buy them. Maybe if with each pack they included a coupon for say some nicotine gum and reasons to quit, that might help. Instead that tax money is gonna be used for cruise missiles, extra houses, expensive cars, etc.

You may be right with tobacco, but a person that is addicted to alcohol is in no way able to think about the addiction without help from outside. Rising taxes would do nothing to them as making them even poorer.
