Same thing was going on with the first Ubuntu laptops they released in the US too. It was $60 more than the Windows version with same specs. I know because I still bought one.

I hate to say it, but for only $50 more you could still get the Windows OS. Now if we're talking about ~$100 difference, then maybe. If we're talking ~$200 difference, then yes, forget Windows Vista. However, for only a $50 difference, the average Joe Schmoe is going to recognize Microsoft Windows and just buy that because he or she has no idea what Linux is. Believe me, I tried to get some of my users to switch to Linux but they don't want to touch it because they are so familiar with Windows.
