hello again to all.
im using slackware 10. im going to set my PGDATA file to .bashrc as where it said in a tutorial.
but then i cant find .bashrc and .bashrc_profile files..
does anybody knows what shell default on slackware?
can i create this file alone? and chmod it so it'L be executable? how? whats the step?
The default Slack shell is bash (I believe an earlier version just used sh), and you can just create those files without any specific chmod -- they're not executable, just config files. Go ahead and either "touch .bashrc" / .bash_profile or just dive right in with your favorite text editor and whip them all up in one step.
For some reason my users are always asking me to come up with "fun, colorful" prompts for them. I always figure their bosses would tell them to work more and bug me less, but ...
