Post Yum and exclude multiple packages.

Hello.
I want to remove gnome packages but exclude some of them. I used "-x" or "--exclude=package name" but I can see the packages name that I excluded in removed items.
For example:
Code:
$ sudo yum erase gnome-* --exclude=gnome-disk-utility.x86_64
But in the output, "gnome-disk-utility.x86_64" existed:
Code:
Removing:
 gnome-disk-utility
 gnome-getting-started-docs
 gnome-packagekit
 gnome-packagekit-common
 gnome-packagekit-installer
 gnome-packagekit-updater
 gnome-system-log
 gnome-system-monitor
 gnome-terminal
 gnome-user-docs
Any idea?

Thank you.

I would rather say they depend on each other, so most probably you can remove all or none.

Have you tried:

Code:
yum deplist <package name>
In your case:
Code:
yum deplist gnome-disk-utility.x86_64
Review the dependency of gnome-disk-utility...

Something I keep handy (yum cheatsheet):
