I will respond to this thread but no more. Please continue the same thread as I would be happy to explain what yum is. However starting 3 threads for one issue is just crazy, and unnecessary. Also please read the man pages and consult google before asking to many questions it saves time and helps you learn better. man yum. "Yum is an automatic updater and package installer/remover for rpm systems. It automatically computes dependencies and figures out what things should occur to install packages. It makes it easier to maintain groups of machines without having to manually update each one using rpm. Yum has a plugin interface for adding simple features.
