as you can see from my signature i have 2 problems,
1) i want to listen to sounds on my system and i get an error
aplay: main:547: audio open error: No such file or directory
and this is after doing soundcard detection found in my /root/scsound.log

next
2) i want to type in japanese on here, if anyone knows how to set it up it would be much appreciated, if you need any additional info you can feel free to message me on yahoo.

BTW i am a linux newb, but i learn fast, i just need some help with these issues

anyone? is it the fact that i am using component and not HDMI that i cant get sound? what about typing in japanese, anyone know how to set that up?
