Unhappy xorg.conf modified and monitor not recognised

hy.
I had some problems because I changed my display resolution. Finally I changed the /etc/x11/xorg.conf file to:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Video-card0"
Driver "versa"
EndSection

Now the monitor is not recognised any more. What can I do? Please help!!http://e1h7.simplecdn.net/lqcdn/imag...s_lq/icon9.gif
PS: I have fedora.

Well...

Unless you mis-spelled the word in your post, the name of the driver should be "vesa". There is no module named versa.

If you have sudo privileges you should be able to run

sudo yum install system-config-display
system-config-display

to generate another xorg.conf file. On other distributions I've had success just deleting the file (preferably just renaming to xorg.conf.old) and rebooting. The system would then detect hardware and apply a default configuration.

This might help: http://www.ghacks.net/2009/01/14/fed...ution-of-xorg/
