Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: No protocol


Dear Colleagues,
I am new user of wien2k and when I try to open xcrysden the following message is shown
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: No protocol
Would you please to help me overcome this problem.

have you installed cygwin? How did you try to open xcrysden?

XCrySDen is supposed to work on any Linux OS, like ...
$ cd xcrysden-1.5.53/
$ ./xcrysden

? May be you are trying to use xcrysden as root ? Please don't do that.

GUI Applications are meant to be run as "unprivileged user".
