xfce panel customization

Can I change the buttons on the xfce panel? For instance, I want to put the little monkey icon for Ximian Evolution there, and have it open Evolution. I have it in the launcher, but this is in a sub-menu above the settings icon. Can't I just replace one of those other buttons with this?

Are we talking about xfce4?

If so:
Right click on the icon you want to replace -> properties ->
Command: <path to>yourcommand
Icon: Choose whatever you want
Tooltip: Titel/(short) Discription
close

If you want to add an icon: rightclick somewhere on the taskbar and select Add New Item -> Launcher, fill in the fields.

Yes we were, and that works perfectly.

My problem is that I was trying to manipulate a non-launcher button, but now it works great.
