I have read different sites info on how to make the xbox 360 controller for windows work in Ubuntu, but I don't know linux at all, so where do I input commands? How do I make it work? STEP BY STEP!!! Remember, I am a complete idiot.
Thank you.

Thank you.
So you'd essentially like us to re-key the steps already listed on MANY websites for you??
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Xbox360Controller

Open a terminal window. Where the commands are listed, type them in. Press ENTER at the end of every command line.

A terminal window can be opened by going to the menu --> accessories --> terminal

Thank you for your help, now I need to know how to calibrate the controller, it keeps going to the upper left corner of the screen when nothing is touched. I installed all the commands, but it still doesn't want to recognize the controller. Like I said before, I am an idiot. lol

Code:
xboxdrv --deadzone 4000 --dpad-as-button --ui-axismap "x1=KEY_LEFT:KEY_RIGHT,y1=KEY_UP:KEY_DOWN,trigger=void" --ui-buttonmap "a=KEY_Z,b=KEY_X,x=void,y=void,rb=KEY_S,lb=KEY_A," --ui-buttonmap "dl=KEY_LEFT,dr=KEY_RIGHT,du=KEY_UP,dd=KEY_DOWN," --ui-buttonmap "start=KEY_W,back=KEY_Q,guide=KEY_E,tl=void,tr=void"
Do not run the kernel module and the command at the same time. Here is some documentation on the command:
