wvdial problem in fedora

i have a cdma data card to connect to internet. i searched net for how to. and then i edited my wvdial.conf as stated. but the problem is when i do wvdial on terminal, it seems that net has been connected, as it says something about primary dns, secondary dns local ip etc. but i am not able to browse the net. when i pinged google, i got this error "unknown host"
the dialer tool in fedora was no help.

When you say that you pinged google, presumably you tried something like

Code:
ping www.google.com
and not

Code:
ping 216.239.59.147
If you try 'ping-by-ip', does that work (which would indicate a problem resolving the name)?
