Unhappy writing password in terminal


Hi, having tried the terminal to install a plug-in for printer and scanner, I came so far as writing my password and a space with \ came up and couldn-t type the password correctly. Tried to get \ away, without result. Can somebody instruct me how to advance ? Glad I came sofar in the terminal - command - my first time !

Does your password contain a space in it?
