wireless will not connect


ubuntu 10.04
inspiron 8200 laptop
problem: my linksys wireless shows available but it will not connect.
wired connection works fine.
i have read way to many post all leading in diff directions. now im confused.

Could you see your wireless network ? Try changing the Channel of your network or your encryption system.

yes, i can see my wireless and when i click to connect it just seems to time out.
i will try your suggestions
