Hey Everyone,

I just installed Ubuntu on my Sony Vaio Laptop and I use a dual boot between Ubuntu and Windows XP. I tried to use my Motorola Wireless Card (WN825G) to connect to the internet but my computer does not even detect the card. I have no idea what to do to fix the problem so that I can finally get rid of Windows! I do not have the CD for Ubuntu, I downloaded it off the internet using Windows XP. I am very new to Linux so I do not really know what I am doing, so be gentle please!!!

try this, on your gui go to system-administration- hardware drivers

and see if there is a proprietary driver to install for your particular modem. i know with mine, a broadcom, there was, and as soon as i did, it was working.

it may be against the will of open source, but it works.
