Hi all...Im new to these forums and linux all together, so forgive me if I sound naive or posted in the wrong category...
I have a compaq presario that I installed kali on and for some reason it doesnt show any wireless interface. My wifi light on my keyboard is on which tells me its not a problem with the card itself, but when i try ifconfig wlan0 up it saysit doesnt exist. Also here is my output from lspci -v. ok sry bout that...These last 24 hrs i been trying countless different methods posted in this site or that site, and i still havent progressed...I've tried installing the bcm-kernel-source method, followed the steps in this post>> and even downloaded the windows driver and installed the inf file, though I shouldve done more research on that method...
The result of rfkill list shows nothing at all.
I should mention that I'm using my android phone as a connection to the internet, under the iface usb0. I also probably made a mess of my configuraton files by following random methods and not backing up the originals...I've learned my lesson. I've learned a lot since switching from a web-surfing windows user to BT5, but the sheer amount of knowledge one must retain in order to accurately troubleshoot the every-day problems linux noobs encounter is humbling to say the least. Thanks for your input.
