WinME ---> Linux

How can I set up an Internet conection from a box with WINME to a box with Linux RH9.
NOTE: I have configured the gateway.... etc. And When bringing up the eth0 device it prompts OK.
BUT if I try to ping or connect to any host or IP it gives me the network unreachable or could not resolve host name message.

What should I do ?
PLEASE HELP!
