I also can not find install

I am having a similar problem wherein I supposedly installed TightVNC but I can not find it on the system anywhere. When I enter the command "rpm -q tightvnc" it says the program is not installed, no matter which case I try, but when I try and install it, it says it is already installed, so I am stumped!!!
