could you be more specific?
what's wrong with your mouse pointer?
what kind system do you work on(distro,machine,...)?

sounds like you have a default mouse package.

Please post your distro...its version number....and the environment or windowmanager.

eg mine is Mandriva....version 2008.1.....KDE...and kde allows different mouse pointers, understand?
