Why doesn't RedHat 9 recognize my DVD drive?
Hi everybody, Linux newbie here (duh), just installed RedHat 9 a few days ago.
My problem: I downloaded Xine so I could play DVDs on my system, and it doesn't play them at all. I get errors reading: "There is no input plugin available to handle 'dvd:/'. Maybe MRL syntax is wrong or file/stream source doesn't exist." and "The source can't be read. Maybe you don't have enough rights for this, or source doesn't contain data (e.g: not disc in drive). (/dev/dvd)".
Does anybody know why this might be happening?
Also, when I put a DVD into the drive, it doesn't show up on the desktop like any other CD, and will only show up if I mount it. When I mount it it only shows me the files that are on the DVD.
Please help me!!
