Exclamation Why can't I Print ?!?!?!?!?!

I have RH9. Was able to print at one time. Now when I try to print from any application, nothing prints. Printer Mgr claims I have no printer now.

Is there a config file or something that will answer why I cannot print. I see people posting etc/whatever files all the time........is there some file that will answer my questions?

Frustrated Newbie.

What type of printer is it?

Is CUPS installed, if so there is a simple way to set up printers. Go to http://localhost:631 and see if you can set it up. Though if you might need your root password so it might be a good idea to login to that page from a seperate browser profile. There will be a list of drivers to choose from, choose the one that corresponds best with your printer, if there are none, go on to http://www.cups.org and check which printer driver would be best to use with your printer. Once it's set up print a test page, if it works then well done.
