which interface


HEY
probably a bad term to use for subject. .but which is easier to use /// more popular..
KDE or KNOME..

i will be using it for gaming.. viewing streaming video.. surfing the net and email.. maybe some ims..


also not sure if i should try 9.2 or be real brave and go for 10.0


BTW talking about Mandrake

I have had issue running SOME 3D games on KDE, such as GL-117. Once I went back to gnome, the game plays fine.

Just my 2 cents...

Thanks Jeff i appreciate your input on this....
im downloading 9.2 as we speak..
im at work . using remote desktop to my pc at home .. lol

kde and gnome are both equally easy to use, i think.

I use fluxbox. Its not quite as easy as gnome or kde, but i found that i learned more by having to go through its minimalistic features.

I would say that there is very little to choose between KDE and Gnome. KDE is perhaps a little more of a resouce hog than Gnome, but only by a very slight margin. Personally I don't like either as a desktop environment, but I quite like some of the apps that come with them.
