no. httpd.conf IS the Apache config file, but it may have 200 lines or 20000 lines. You choose. Google for "httpd.conf examples" or "apache virtual host howto". It is not easy to explain here. You should read several docs.

Apache website is a very good place to begin:

/etc/httpd/conf/ is the folder that holds the httpd2/httpd.conf files with my Mandrake 9.2

within the /etc/httpd/conf/ folder there will be an additional folder labeled vhosts/; so the full directory would be /etc/httpd/conf/vhosts/ and edit the vhosts.conf file.

I am still working on getting the name-based virtual hosting to work.

Good Luck!
