where do I learn more re: blinking LEDs, other signs & symptons
From time to time, I find my laptop in a SLEEP (suspend to RAM) state, but the caps-lock LED is blinking. I just learned that this means there was a kernel panic.
Where do I find a summary of other possible indicators, signs and symptoms that these is something going on? I suspect that some of these will be specific to my workstation hardware, but isn't there a list of system happenings that is then mapped onto the available hardware?
RELATED QUESTION:
Now that I've learned that there are kernel panics going on, what is a good resource -- there are too many items online to count -- to learn how to diagnose and deal with such events?
look up your brand of laptop using their support to give you the meanings behind the blinking lights.
if you had a kernel panic you'd be diw (Dead In the Water).

Caps lock and scroll lock blinking together means kernel panic. You might be able to magic sysrq keys in such an instance. That's the only led blinking I'm aware of coming directly from Linux.
