I take this was the PPA that was responsible. Because Dnscrypt is the only PPA installed at the moment.

Another question; I recently uninstalled Samba from my machine but I'm still getting updates for something I
removed sometime a go - why is this still happening.

I've used the purge command to remove the package but doesn't seem to do anything.

That's great, but do you still want to run DnsCrypt? If so, you should probably remove the package(s), remove the entry in the PPA, and remove any corresponding entry in the Authentication Keys tab.

Then you should decide which PPA suits you best (there are at least a couple on Launchpad - google "PPA DnsCrypt"). When you've chosen one, go to the "Adding this PPA to your system" section at the bottom of the page, select your distro (if you're using Linux Mint 17.1/2/3 then choose "Trusty (14.04)". Then click on "What is this?" beside the signing key and that will tell you how the PPA process works.

Can you paste the results from:

Code:
dpkg -l samba*
What is the "something" you're getting updates for?
