What password I should enter at attempt of access to the catalogue of a samba-server?

I should enter what password at attempt of access to the catalogue of a samba-server?
I have made the following records in a file /etc/samba/smb.conf
In section [global]
netbios name = Any_computer_name
In section [samba]
path =/samba
writable=yes
Has restarted service
Further I sit down to a computer under operational system Windows, I start the Network environment, I open Samba Server (Any_computer_na), there there is a catalogue samba. At attempt of open there is a window for input of a login and the password appears. What password I should enter?

From what I can tell, Samba is expecting you to authenticate yourself. Typically, the username you are logged in as on Windows will be sent to the Samba server. You must then supply the password for the username on the server (not the windows machine). I connect to Samba from OSX, Linux, and Windows 2000. I believe I had to create an account, say gunter, on the Samba server and then use smbpasswd to set the password for that user. After that, all worked fine. FYI, the version of Windows matters.
