I desperately need to get at home with Linux Mint.
So I started to read the book "The Linux Command Line" Fith Edition, by William Shotts, which I found on one of the many sites about Linux.
But still I am gettig across simple problems.

I need to install third party software.
But when I do I get the message "The folder contents could not be displayed".
Then the only thing I can do is click "OK", after which everything stops.

As a careful programmer on Windows10, I am used to always give explanation when a user gets a message, and never let someone down. With Linux, you will always, or many times put down. Linux demands to become a superuser, else its almost impossible to work with it.

For example I needed to install LAMP (Apache,mySQL,PHP). After a week trying it did not work. Then a friend of me helped me out. I was shocked.

So I need to get the Linux feeling, which is completly different from W10.
Where to start???? Please Help.

What Linux distribution are you running and desktop environment? Most desktop distributions will come with a graphical user interface which allows you to "get things done" additional most of them will offer some sort if package manager which makes installing packages easier for new-to-linux / non-terminal users.

The best way to start in my experience is to jump into the deep end and figure things out as you go along. There are tons of information on the internet that can guide you. You first stop shop should be the website of the distribution that you are running as they will offer some form of documentation for users and administrators.

Learn how to read man pages. Every Linux command has one. Just type

Not quite so. You need superuser rights to make changes to the system, this is common sense security-wise. You need to adjust user rights if it is needed for work, but this is fine-tuning. You should not add user to root group just to mount a disk, for instance. UNIX has very long history of multi-user management and security, you better trust 50+ years of professional experience!
