What is the best Linux distro for using World of Warcraft?
Hello I'm new to linux. I love the apple OS and would like to get the same on my new win 7 computer.
I will be installing linux and would like to use World of warcraft to avoid the defragmentation caused by WoW. Which distro would be the best for WoW? I've read mandriva is really good as well as mint and ubuntu for the new user. Any suggestions?
I can't comment on WoW, but I can say you don't need to worry about defragmentation on Linux. Linux files systems manage to keep the amount of fragmentation well under control.
That doesn't mean you won't ever see any fragmentation on a Linux partition; you will. It just never becomes a large enough issue to worry about.
There is a new problem...lol... It seems the game starts like normal from the start window, but it vanishes and nothing happens.
What little I can find states I need to find the right exe. file and copy it to wow or Wine 1.3 is buggy. Most of what I find says its wine and to uninstall and install 1.4. Never worked command line till installing wine this should be interesting.

Reason: bad grammer/punctuation at best
WINE may work just fine...however Win 7 actually does very good preventing fragmentation issues (not to be a Windows supporter), but I play WoW on my Win 7 box and have never had any issues at all.
