We have Ubuntu 8.04 ISO on disk and am trying it for first time .We would like help t


We are using Windows XP and are booting with an ubuntu 8.05 disk to try it. We are at a loss how to connect our verizon dsl on an ethernet connection

OK, I assume that the cables and stuff are all connected. In other words, it works under Windows, right?

If it does work under Windows and you have not changed anything, then it would help to know the name of your network card. If you are not sure, I believe that posting the output of this command would help:
