I have a pc with a fresh load of windows xp and i want to install unbuntu 7.04, but when i try the install linux doesnt load the disk partitioner but rather it wants to format the entire hd..
Distribution: Mac OS X Leopard 10.6.2, Windows 2003 Server/Vista/7/XP/2000/NT/98, Ubuntux64, CentOS4.8/5.4

Select Custom layout when given the choice on where and what drives to install Ubuntu, and then you can choose not to format an existing partition. Don't let Ubuntu auto select for you
You got to define one then,wright?Just choose ext3 or raiserfs and you'll be fine.Also,choose "/" when asked what to put on created partition,and also choose dev/hda or dev/sda when asked where to install Grub(just let it be on MBR).
