Waiting for sda3 to appear

Dear all,
I am a newbie in linux. I am facing some problems. I installed Suse 10.3 on my server machine. Raid is configured on my server.

1. When I establish Samba as PDC on server and the clients are on XP Pro, it implements many restrictions on domain users. I want to change the date style to run my software but couldn't and many other limitations. The question is How can I grant some rights to my domain users.?

2. On my Linux server Raid is configured. When I attach another hard drive as master or slave it gives a message:
"Waiting for device dev/sda3 to appear: .........not found -- exiting to bin/sh

3. It doesn't boot my system. How can I get into suse after attaching another hard drive.

Please help me, I will be very gratefull.
