vsftpd xinetd Changing default (21) port

Im trying to change the default listen port(21) for vsftpd (running xinetd). Ive been through the vsftpd.conf and cannot locate any listen port setting. I also tried changing ftp port in services conf to the port I wanted to use and this did not work. Im new to linux and I cant understand why this setting is not available. This should be a no brainer....Can anyone help???

Thanks,

Jakcap

extract from man vsftpd.conf

listen_port
If vsftpd is in standalone mode, this is the port it will listen
on for incoming FTP connections.

Default: 21

So at a glance it looks like you can't change the port if xinetd is handling it otherwise
you could add listen_port=whatever_port
