VirtualBox Windows XP on Fedora 10 Host only display 8bit 640x480 :(

i'm just installed VirtualBox following this guide:
http://www.derekhildreth.com/blog/ho...a-10-tutorial/

then i created a WinXP VM... installed GuestAdditions and everything seems to be fine, display was fine 32bit 800x600...

Anyhow after rebooting, the VM only display 8bit and 640x480 for XP... this is really weird

has anyone come across this before? i can't seem to figure out a fix to get my display back to normal

Before you start up the VM, go to the settings, and check that the video memory is set to a reasonable amount. 64MB or higher should be fine for 800x600 32 bit color.

See if that helps any...

thanks but i don't think it's the amount of VideoRam that's the issue, i set it initially to 32MB when installing the VM and it ran fine... just after restart that it plays up

this sux... is there any other virtualization programs that i can use? FREE ones i mean
