Video and app performance "choppy" after fresh install of Linux Deepin 2014
Greetings, I am new to Linux and am convinced I will love it for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the total absence of MS garbage.(my opinion.) I just installed Linux Deepin 2014 after 1st partitioning the hdd with Gparted. I had a few problems with booting, but within a few days, I think I have that problem solved, thanks to all the wealth of info shared here and other sites. The one thing I can't seem to find out much about, though, is the way my computer is acting. My wifi drops randomly for no apparent reason. Sometimes I can reconnect almost immediately and sometimes it takes awhile. Also, my trackpad does not respond correctly no matter how much I adjust the settings, so I use a usb mouse which works much better. When I open an application it slowly opens in a very "choppy" manner, much like a video that buffers too slow to be watched in one piece. My fan seems to "short cycle" and the computer is not even hot. I have listed my hardware and some other system info in the hopes that someone viewing it will notice something I've overlooked, misconfigured or both. It is as follows -
Linux shawnikins-pc 3.13.0-49-generic #83-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 10 20:14:51 UTC 2015 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux

indication. I see information in addition to this about your network connection(s). Maybe if you find someway to enable all of the network connections, your wifi will stop dropping out intermittently.
Also, if I were you I would approach this pile of problems more strategically, by separating the issues into their own threads, that way concentrated effort can be devoted to each issue/problem individually.
Thank you for your timely response. I had my on board wifi disabled because my computer is located too far away from my router to get a decent signal. Instead, I use an Alfaa awus 036h adapter which serves me well. I wasn't sure if having both adapters enabled at the same time would create a conflict or other problems, so I disabled the on board one. I really can't say that it solved any problem, but I'm pretty sure it did not create any new ones.As for your suggestion for posting different problems in their proper place, you are absolutely right and I shall do just that. Thank you once again.
