Hi,

I am having a problem when running VI in the Konsole in KDE. When I am editting in VI in the Konsole if I press my delete button it switches VI to Command mode(this should only happen with the escape key)

Backspace doesn't work to delete my text either. Is this a bug that you cannot use VI in the terminal?

One other question regarding VI is how can I exit a document that I have made changes to WITHOUT saving the file. Whenever I have a VI open in the terminal it won't let me exit (using :q) because I have made changes(which I don't want to save!)

I know this could start people on the VI Emacs debate, but please, I am a newbie and want to become familiar with both so that I can make a decision on which I like best.

Ah, thank you! I can use "x" while in command mode to delete while in the Konsole and I can quit without saving with ":q!"

That solves my problem but it still seems strange that Del doesn't work normaly.
