Smile Very much a Newbie...

Hi All.

Am a newbie to Linux, and I must say, from working with Windows, and on a amc, I definately prefer Linux.

However, one slight problem...

I recently bought myself the Acer Aspire One with Linpus Linux Lite on it. And as easy as it seems to use at first... the more i would like to do, the more i can not figure our how to do it.

Firstly, I have heard about the whole enabling the desktop - what does this mean and does anyone know how to do this? (please note that i am not just a newbie in Linux, but in computer speak too).

Then, in the manual that you get on the netbook, it says you can set a password for not only Bios, but as a username with password at start-up and for sleep mode too. However, i can not seem to get this right. In the manual it shows you how to change the password, but not how to set it to start-up passwrod - which is all I really want. To beable to start up my AA1 and it ask me for a password. Can anyone help here?

And with the sceensaver, I see it's linked to the pictures Acer has put of the AA1 into the pictures folder. Am not sure how to set this to only go into screensaver mode after say 15mins rather than what seems to only be 5mins. Anyone know who to get to this setting by any chance?

I know, I sound hopeless, but if anyone can help, please I would really like to beable to utilze my cute tiny Blue AA1 and be happy with the setting want to use.

Thank you!
