using sdcard as flash memory


hello,
i want to use sdcard as flash memory to port linux(uclinux) image , so that i can boot using my arm7(lpc2148) microcontroller

(In other words, can we use sda card to dump linux image and boot from microcontroller)

Go ahead. Format it ext2/3/4. Now the key question is: where does the machine look for a system when it starts?

as a newbie to linux,i thought , if we use a boot code to boot linux ( which will be in microcontroller(arm7)) it will look on upon running linux imagefrom sd card and boot it . but my issue is can we implement it successfully ( my idea is to replace nand flash memory with sd card)

You are far too close with your information. Every system needs a startup process. Find out yours. If you're designing, which I suspect, state that plainly. What code does the processor seek to execute when it is powered up?
