Using gpicview Options in a script

I would like to run gpicview in the slide show mode on a time basis using crontab. I have done that using crontab to play videos at specified times.

My thought was that I could do this using a script to be called by crontab. At this point I am frustrated by the lack on information about gpicview. I thought that I would find the info by using man gpicview but there was no help there.

Can anyone lead me to a location that would help me?

Specifically is there an Option to "Play Slide Show" without having to use the menu button.

Thanks!

maybe here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxd...ewer%29/0.2.x/

but... may i suggest using feh instead? i think it is much more suitable for scripting.

also keep in mind that cron jobs run as root; you have to explicitely tell it to run as another user.
