User settings not saved

I use fedora 7.My settings arent saved and i get new fonts everytime i log in. Even my network connection gets disabled everytime i log in(I've used the active on boot option). It always happens how many ever times i install. I installed using the same source at a friend's place and everything works fine. What could be reason for this instability on my system.

If you are using KDE, have you selected the Restore previous session in your session manager? It's in the KDE Control Centre--> KDE Components--> Session Manager.

Or are you running Gnome -- the default in Fedora?
