Unhappy user profile


i have used windows installer to install Ubuntu operating system.initially it was working fine but now when i tried to boot my computer it asks for user name and password in command prompt mode while booting up the system.how can i get rid of this issue,can any one help me please.

You can try to login on command prompt and then use startx. This will take you to X. If this works you can start off looking for why did not X start.

I hope you didn't install Ubuntu on NTFS?

If x is broken you could reconfigure your x using
Code:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
