Question USB setup for Buslink Flashdrive

OK - hello all!

I'm a COMPLETE newbie to Linux - using RH9. I've been trying to setup a Buslink USB flash 16 MB drive to help me take files from my Windoze computer to my Linux machine - and not getting the drive to mount. I've setup the /sda (I think) - so need "from the top" instructions. When I try to mount the drive, I get the message "sda/usb1 is not a valid device".

Any ideas? Does anyone have instructions (very basic) from a graphical point-of-view?

Thanks!
