usb linmodems -- how to? (fc6)
I'm sorry if this is a re-post, but I can't find what I sent out earlier this evening.
I'm trying to get a Hiro V.92 USB modem working on my FC6 Linux box.
I searched around and found ltmodem (ltserial) and martian software, but neither did much of anything (after fixing ltmodem to compile).
I tried running scanmodem and it did not find anything of interest in the usb world.
lsusb says its a Agere (Lucent) chip set, so I was hoping it would work.
The documentation says "Use AGERE Olympia SV92U2 / 1040 chipset solution"
Please advise on any of the following:
1. Can I expect to ever get this working
2. If not, what USB modem that has caller ID will work (least expensive please).
3. Where could I get more help
Thanks,
Jeff
