usb distro

Ok, well i have an old laptop, toshiba, and it has one usb port. the laptop is not fast enough to support windows xp, so i was wondering which distro would be very simple graphical and easy, allowing me to have plug and play usb without any complications, like ubuntu. (i tried ubuntu but it didnt run very well on this laptop)

vector linux is nice for low specs and is newbie friendly. I installed it on a older toshiba and it runs pretty fast and boot time is quick. otherwise slack or debian will work as well for installing on the laptop.

so you're just trying to boot up the laptop to get data off of it or are you trying to use nix on it? as for setting up the usb, whats the prob? there shouldn't be one.

ah ok well still no one has given me any alternative, and it seems as though i might fall into the dreaded microsoft os category once more please save me......well anyway i am just lookin for that ideal distro that runs well on an old laptop, but primarily something i can use a wirless usb adapter on(i have two now, microsoft mn510, and airlink 101 AWLL3026) in addition to having it automount usb devices(mostly storage devices)
