Urgent help required
i have this SMTP server (written in java) developed which sends around 30 mails per second in win98/win2000 OS. however when i run the same code under RedHat7.3 the throughput drops to 4.
i m using jdk1.4.1. do i need to install some patch or something.
if there is something wrong with my code then why is it giving high performance on windows system.

On a side note, in the future please don't mark your thread titles as urgent, and use better titles that actually describe your problem. Be considerate to other members by following these guidelines as marking your threads as urgent comes off as rude and inconsiderate to those who are here to help you.
Why do you need a program to send 30 messages a second? Sounds like a fast spam sending program to me.... ??

actually i m in the process of developing a mass mail server for an advertisement company. and the recievers would be the persons whose emails r stored in a database. these mails would be the emails recieved from the prior permission of these persons.
as 4 not using the word 'urgent' my friend , i really need it urgent. i have to deliver this project on 14th of October.
so its really URGENT.
