understanding auth.log

Could someone please tell me how i should interpret the following auth.log entry?

thanks. Actually, I would like to know what the ??? means. Also, i usually see the su done user to root. Also, I dont use su I use sudo.

I don't know what the ??? means, but cron + pam will generate a lot of these messages
