unable to get fedora16 download to boot up

i downloaded fedora16 and then burned the 3.5gb iso file to a dvd.

a dialog box "create cd/dvd" indicated that the download was completed but then indicated that an "image checksum" was in process.

there was a great deal of activity on the dvd drive that went on for over a half hour.

i cancelled it and tried to boot the dvd but received an error "no bootable disk detected".

what am i doing wrong???

seems either like a bad download or bad disk to me.

I might have burnt disc at least twice/thrice to isolate if that was bad download.
