This is poor security.
ACL's like this hint at using Samba; is this the case, and if so, would have been nice to know this to start with.
Is your web server really running as user "ubuntu"??
The method of connection has *ABSOLUTELY ZERO* bearing on this. Again, if you don't have permissions to write, you can't, period.
You could have TRIED this 'solution' and found out if it works quicker than you posted this. Why don't you try it and find out??
